BLACK ROCK has made many mistakes. Mistakes with the legend Edward R. Murrow (and, how!) Mistakes with the not so great Connie Chung (smile). This is not new to the world of broadcast (old school - network) newz. But now here's word (sic) that it was Dan who walked away with his head held high, in spite of Mike Wallace's opinion.

CBS Chief Regrets Unceremonious Rather Exit (Reuters) CBS Corp. Chief Executive Leslie Moonves said on Wednesday he was sorry about the bitter departure of newsman Dan Rather, who left the broadcaster after protracted talks to renew his contract fell apart. Hollywood Reporter via Netscape: "It's a sad, sad story. He's a good man, a hell of a reporter, (he) made a mistake," said Mike Wallace of Rather.
