The curiously doctored photo of Dr. C. Rice

FROM USA Today: Rice won't rule out U.S. troops in Iraq in 10 years

Editor's note: The photo of Condoleezza Rice that originally accompanied this story was altered in a manner that did not meet USA TODAY's editorial standards. The photo has been replaced by a properly adjusted copy. Photos published online are routinely cropped for size and adjusted for brightness and sharpness to optimize their appearance. In this case, after sharpening the photo for clarity, the editor brightened a portion of Rice's face, giving her eyes an unnatural appearance. This resulted in a distortion of the original not in keeping with our editorial standards.

but hours before...

The Demon - Condi - 666, our United States Secretary of State. Not a cartoon.

Yes, USA Today, like Reuters before them, with the Bush "I gotta go now" bathroom note at the UN, must have hired youngsters, pranksters who are "experts" in photoshop. Of course, after it was noted by a web log that scrupulously edits such things, Michelle Malkin and the right wing posse (she has the right, natch!) got a hold of it, and BOOM! Demon-Condi-666 on DRUDGE. It's not enough that Petey at Princess Sparkle Pony has built a Condi shrine........or the NOOZ-wire Blog comparing Demon-Condi 666 to Super-villians ---but, nooooooooo---------we have to go to into the mainstream-media first to get this pre-Halloween"entertainment"! Now they're putting a demon-condi mask by Hasbro in mass production!
