SHOWDOWN at the Crawford Ranch: The lady cowgirls meet up next Saturday

###

"A gal's gotta do what a gal's gotta do." --Minnie Cody, (1901)

From Gunslinger, (1956) Excellent Roger Corman B-movie!

AS REPORTED BY CNN's "The Situation Room": Meanwhile, [Back at the Crawford Ranch] the Right plans more anti-Sheehan pushback. The pro-Bush group, Move America Forward, [maybe they should rename themselves, "Move Over MoveOn.org"], will conduct the "You Don't Speak for Me, Cindy" caravan beginning next week. It will feature military family members who have loved ones serving in the war against terrorism in Iraq or Afghanistan. The delegation will be led by Deborah Johns of a group called Northern California Marine Moms. Johns will lead the caravan to Crawford, where she and Move Chairman Melanie Morgan will lead a "We Support Our Troops and Their Mission" rally on Saturday, August 27th [which will certainly be televised on ALL cable outlets!]

[---just MORE HighVizPR for Cindy Sheehan! Remember, every time the media mentions it, an editor gets their wings!]

SIDEBAR: Could it be true? Did you know that Fox News Channel hired a PR flack (sic) to further soil Cindy Sheehan's image? Imagine that. Mike Paul, too.

Cindy Sheehan's Reputation Gets Expert Management From Fox
If you want the job done right, you hire a professional. So tonight Fox hired Mike Paul, reputation management expert, to join John Gibson to do a more polished and professional trashing of Cindy Sheehan's reputation. Gibson and his guest, with cool professional objectivity, pondered the political ramifications of a Bush meeting with Cindy Sheehan. Maybe Paul was responsible for that new snapshot they had tonight of Cindy Sheehan and Michael Moore photo shopped together. Nice touch, Mike.

After airing a powerful ad showing a sincere Sheehan asking President Bush to tell the truth about Iraq, Gibson was anxious to counter it.
He opened by asking Mike Paul if Sheehans connection with the anti war groups would hurt her? Paul claimed that Sheehan wears one hat of a grieving mother which she used as the hook

Gibson described a potential meeting as a "do over" adding, "She didn't yell at him the way she wanted to." However, Gibson seemed to think it was a good idea for Bush to just meet with her and "take it."
Gibson asked Paul if a meeting might win Bush some "political points."

Mike Paul was firmly against the meeting because "where do you stop."
"If she was a person acting by herself, not an anti war activist. If she was a grieving Mother, it would be okay."

That's funny, I thought she was a grieving mother.

The comment "He opened by asking Mike Paul if Sheehans connection with the anti war groups would hurt her?" is almost totally rhetorical at this point in Fox media coverage. For example, even though Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh were both assisted by the ACLU, there is no way that they would ever acknowledge that publicly. So if Cindy Sheehan attracts sponsorship that does not fit in with the agenda of the corporate sponsors of Fox, it is most certainly going to be painted in a negative light.

The fine point of it all is that no matter who backs Cindy Sheehan, unless it is Mr. Bush himself, they are going to be labeled leftist. The reverse is true for any assistance that she accepts.

"If she was a person acting by herself, not an anti war activist. If she was a grieving Mother, it would be okay."
That is one of the most asanine, idiotic statements I have read about Cindy Sheehan so far.
I have been following this story for over an hour a day since Cindy first got to the ditch. So I have read plenty.
I hope Fox keeps this guy.
