NYT still covering for Wilson and Plame

As the probe into the leak of the identity of CIA agent Valerie Plame nears its conclusion, the New York Times is trying to reinforce that the operative was covert at the time someone mentioned her name to columnist Robert Novak. STORY

The entire case rests on this point and even the nation's largest anti-Bush newpaper can't make the convincing argument necessary to satisfy the statute under which a leaker would be prosecuted.
